On private parcels: 20% land share to the land manager, 60% to the forager, 20% Sporeways margin. On state and federal parcels: 60% to the forager, 40% Sporeways margin — no permit royalty flows to a government land manager. On farmer hand-pick arrangements: the farmer pays foragers a direct per-day rate and Sporeways earns a 3% margin from the farmer on the settled harvest.

Every dispatch is closed end-to-end inside Sporeways. The crew gets a map, an ID guide, and the regulation that authorizes the pick; the manager gets a weigh ticket and a routed sale; the forager gets paid before the dispatcher logs off.

Permit is verified
Every parcel references its actual authorization — a Forest Products Permit under 36 CFR Part 223, a state commercial harvest license, or a private land manager agreement. If we can't cite it, we don't dispatch.

Crew is certified
Foragers opt in with an ID, a species quiz, and a base-wage agreement. Renewal quizzes ride along each season so ID accuracy survives the calendar.

Pick is run, not scouted
Each assignment ships with a GPS parcel map, a seasonal ID guide for the target species, and the applicable regulatory citation. Live check-in keeps land managers and foresters honest about progress.

Pick is weighed and routed
Harvest goes to vetted brokers, farmers markets, and specialty buyers who already pay a premium for traceable wild ingredients — mushrooms, berries, ramps, or pine tips depending on the lot.

An instant-payout company card clears the forager's split to their bank account the same day, on top of the base wage and any per-pound bonus.

Every lot Sporeways dispatches is published to the broker portal the same day — species, parcel label, permit jurisdiction, and a server-priced quote per buyer tier. The same number your kitchen gets is the same number the forager sees on the payout ticket.

Sporeways launches in jurisdictions and species where commercial permits are obtainable — berries, pine tips, huckleberries, and certain fungi on Forest Service land — rather than chasing ginseng where national-forest permits are suspended, or ramps where commercial harvest is prohibited. That choice is the regulatory-by-jurisdiction moat, and it is on every ticket. Medicinal plants like wormwood are dispatched only where federal and state commercial-harvest authorizations align with the FDA’s human-consumption constraints on thujone-bearing essential oils — case by case.
Each dispatch carries an explicit citation: 36 CFR Part 223 for federal, the relevant state code for state, the contract reference for private.
